About Catalyst K9

My name is Zack — and this is Sarabi.

2025 marks the launch of Catalyst K9 Dog Training, based in Woodbury, MN and proudly serving the East Metro area of the Twin Cities.

I rescued Sarabi five years ago during the pandemic from a local organization now known as The Bond Between (formerly Secondhand Hounds). Like many rescue dogs, she came from a difficult background, and her behavior reflected it. While she bonded with me quickly, she struggled deeply with reactivity and anxiety around strangers.

After months of stress and trial-and-error, I decided to invest in professional training. Over the course of two years and 15+ private sessions, I saw Sarabi transform into a calm, confident companion. That experience not only changed our lives — it inspired me to help others experience that same transformation.

I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel when your dog’s behavior becomes a source of stress instead of joy. That’s why I created Catalyst K9 — to help dog owners build strong, respectful, and lasting bonds with their companions through structured, compassionate training.

Our Bigger Mission

Catalyst K9 is more than just a training service — it's the first step toward a much larger dream. As we grow, our goal is to donate a portion of our profits to local shelters and rescue organizations that help dogs like Sarabi find their forever homes.

One day, I hope to open a dog sanctuary of my own — a safe haven for rescues who need help, training and a way to find a good home.
